Million Dollar Affirmation

Today’s affirmation:

Million dollar ideas are as common as blades of grass. My million dollar idea is coming to me today.

You know, it’s true million dollar ideas are everywhere. Many of them have come to you over time, but maybe you didn’t act. Then you saw someone else make it big with your idea.

This affirmation reminds you that these ideas are not a finite commodity and that you have them all the time.

There are four steps to turning your million dollar ideas into a reality.

Step 1 is to manifest the ideas. That’s the easy part. You probably have 20-100 ideas with potential every day depending on how much thought you give to things. You just have to learn not to dismiss the ideas when they come to you. Write them down when they come to you and review them at the end of the day.

Step 2 is to match your abilities and aptitudes to your ideas. Some ideas are million dollar ideas, but not for you. While others, are right in your sweet spot. Become aware of your abilities, skills, and interests. When an idea comes along that really fits move directly to Step 3.

Step 3 is to act. The best combination of ideas and abilities cannot yield dividends until you act and act with commitment.
Step 4 is to create a burning desire to reach your goal and focus your mind and your thinking on its achievement.

Use the affirmation first thing in the morning to get your mind moving in the direction of manifesting the ideas that will take you to your dreams.

The Power of Your Mind

Today’s Affirmation:
I AM the engine of MY dreams! MY dreams NEVER give up on me and I NEVER give up on MY dreams!

The results are in! For thousands of years, the wisest of the wise among us have been telling us, “It’s all about the mind, stupid.” It makes sense. The mind, via the brain, is the part of our being that interacts with and makes sense of our environment.

Modern science has demonstrated that the Universe around us, despite its physical appearance to our senses, is really just energy. Our mind/brain structure is tuned into that energy and literally creates the individual and collective realities that we experience within that field of energy.

However, the mind is not just a passive receiver of frequencies. It also has the ability to transmit, when trained properly, frequencies that can manifest objects of its desire.

We’ve all heard quotes like these.

  • “The Universe is Change; our life is what our thoughts make of it.”

  • “Wealth is the capacity of man’s mind to think.”

These are just a few of the most famous quotes. You could literally fill a book with quotes from humanity’s best and wisest people sending this very same message to you. But, are you listening?

Do you still believe that life is something that happens “out there” and “to you” rather than “in here” and “by you”? Do you still believe that your thinking is out of your control? There’s nothing you can do about it? Thoughts just pop into your head?

Affirmations are a workhorse tool when it comes to changing and choosing the thoughts you want to think in your life. It is more complex than just saying the words over and over, but  there are many resources on this blog and elsewhere to help you with the finer points.

You CAN change and master your thinking. That is the first thing you must believe.

I have been writing and recording audio affirmations for more than 20 years. First, I used them to improve my own thinking and my own life. Then I shared with them others. Now I have created a website called The Affirmation Spot where I make the power of audio affirmations available to you.

woman_eyes_closed_sun_rs“Speak of the Devil and he appears,” goes the old aphorism. Some people in the positive thought movement seem to think the same thing about negative thoughts. They are something to be avoided at all costs. You must stamp them out like burning embers of a campfire to prevent their spread.

Obviously, the goal of positive thinking and affirmations is to diminish negative thoughts and counter them with positive thoughts. This is a worthy and highly beneficial goal that enahances your life. Negative thoughts, however, are a natural part of being human. We all have them and we will always have them.

To panic and spend a lot of time concerning yourself with them, only causes them to blossom and grow. Recognizing them, accepting them, and letting them go steals their power and allows them to vanish back into the void from where they came. Having a negative thought is not the problem. Allowing them to become your habitual way of seeing things is what you want to avoid.

Actually, our negative thoughts provide a natural benefit. They spread light on the parts of us that need work and attention. If you always have negative thoughts about your job, maybe that part of your life needs some attention. If you have negative thoughts about certain people, those may be relationships that need work.

It’s rather entertaining sometimes to simply “thought watch”. Our minds are interesting things. When we relax, close your eyes, and watch your thoughts for a while you notice how impermanent thoughts are. They appear and create feelings. The disappear and the feelings disappear with them.

If your thoughts are very destructive and involve hurting yourself or others, get professonal help.
Here are four things you can do to handle and live more harmoniously with common negative thoughts. They form the word CALL.
  1. Counter – counter your negative thoughts with tools like affirmations. Persistent negative thoughts can be countered and changed by offering a positive alternatives.
  2. Accept – accept that you will have negative thoughts and it’s OK. You’re human afterall. No beating yourself up.
  3. Listen – listen to your negative thoughts. They may provide insight into where you need to focus your self-improvement efforts.
  4. Laugh – some of your negative thoughts really are pretty funny when you get enough perspective. Lighten up and see the humor in the way your mind works.

I’m not saying don’t try to transform your negative thoughts into something positive. I’m just saying that when they want to come out and play, CALL allows you to say, “Bring it on!”

Don’t Quit! A Video Poem – The Affirmation Spot for Sunday May 3, 2009

Success and happiness are here for all of us to experience in this life. We can experience their miracle each an every day. There are, of course, bigger goals and dreams we have in our lives. These require time, effort, and perseverance.

It’s easy to give up and quit when we don’t see immediate results. In fact, most people do over and over. Someone once referred to this as digging many shallow wells and never finding water. You have to pick your spot and dig your well. Keep digging on good days and bad and one day you will strike water and your dreams will be yours.

An Awareness Experiment – The Affirmation Spot for Tuesday April 29, 2009

woman_confusedThis week we are going to conduct a little experiment. I hope you will participate. Despite the fact that both modern science and ancient wisdom confirm that our thoughts are very powerful things; many, many people still fail to grasp their significance.

The words people say are often a window into the thinking that pervades their minds. Words are the outward expressions of thoughts and the next step forward in manifesting the reality – positive or negative – that thoughts create.

This week I want you to pay special attention to all the negative and disempowered thinking around you. Pay attention to your family and friends. Pay attention to your leaders and the media. Listen for how often people articulate – even glorify – the negative side of things.

Keep track of how many negative statements you hear in a day. Listen to how the people around you limit themselves, deprecate themselves, and hold themselves back through their thinking and their words. Pay attention to the reasons people give to justify their negative, disempowered thinking.

How to proceed:

  1. Listen for all the “I can’t…”, “I’m not good at…”, “I’ll never…”, “I’m not lucky at…” statements put out into the world by the people around you.
  2. Listen for negative self-judgments.
  3. Listen for catastrophe thinking in the media and among leaders.
  4. Watch how people respond to positive thinking or the suggestion that their negative perspective might be wrong.
  5. Watch how the media reacts to positive thinking or empowered thinking.
  6. Listen to how people justify negative, disempowered thinking – “realistic”, “other people lucky”, “I’m unlucky”, “That’s how things have always been.”, etc.

This experiment is not meant to judge anyone. This is simply for you to become more aware of the mental environment you inhabit.
